The number of reported house-breaking cases in Queensland has increased in the past decade and house breaking now represents one in five criminal offences reported to police. Most house break-ins appear to be crimes of opportunity.  Intruders are looking for and often find a house left open or unlocked where they get what they want with ease.  The presentation will provide information to assist you make your home more secure and reduce the opportunity for crime.

Unfortunately frauds and scams are a growing part of Australian life.  Technological advances such as the internet have increased communication and the ease of doing usiness; the downside is that fraudsters and criminals have easier access into your home and personal life. The reality is, you may not even know you are the victim of identity theft until long after your good name is ruined. The presentation will provide you with practical strategies to prevent you from becoming a victim of identity theft and associated fraud and what to do if you are affected by this devastating crime.

The presentation on the Protective Behaviours program aims to enhance problem-solving and communication skills for people of all ages.  It encourages individuals to identify unsafe  or potentially unsafe situations and to develop practical strategies in order to preserve their physical and emotional safety.

The presentation will provide practical strategies and information to assist you in protecting you and your children whilst they are using the internet and some on-line personal safety tips.

The Presentation has an under the bonnet workshop to ensure your safety whilst travelling by car and holiday security strategies.

 

  • STANDARD DRINKS

The presentation will provide simple strategies including the ten core concepts of personal safety to assist you in dealing positively with some of the issues you may be confronted with regarding your overall personal safety. 

 

  • SAFE PARTY STRATEGIES

November 1st 6-7pm Safe City Conference Room,
November 8th 6-7pm,15th 7-8pm, Yamanto Police Complex
The presentation will provide a practical demonstration on what is a standard drink while providing information on the recommended number of standard drinks per hour for people who are driving.  The presentation will dispel some myths with factual information in relation to alcohol.

 

  • HOLIDAY SECURITY AND ROAD SAFETY

November 22nd 6-7pm, 29th 6-7pm - Yamanto Police Complex
December 6th 7-8pm - Safe City Conference Room
The presentation will provide some strategies to assist with having large parties (especially end of school and formal parties) so they are successful, enjoyable and SAFE.
