What is National Tree Day?

Llewellyn Toyota and Ipswich City Council are getting ready to roll their sleeves up and get their hands dirty in support of Toyota’s involvement in Planet Ark’s National Tree Day, providing locals the chance to get involved in Australia’s biggest community tree planting event.

National Tree Day planting activities will take place locally this Sunday, August 1 at Denman Park, Waterworks Rd, Raymonds Hill from 9am.

This year marks the 150th year  of the community of Ipswich and Llewellyn Toyota are excited to tie in National Tree Day with these celebrations as 150 locals gather from across the Booval business, volunteer, indigenous, senior, school and sporting communities, to plant 150 trees.

Local Mayor Paul Pisasale and Chair of Environmental Committee Councillor Cheryl Bromage and Ipswich City Council’s Green Leaders Program are also getting involved in the event.

Planet Ark, in partnership with Toyota and its Dealer Network, encourages all Australians to come together with their local community, sporting group or school and plant trees and give back to their local environment.

National Tree Day, proudly sponsored by Toyota and founded by Planet Ark, began in 1996 and has grown into Australia’s biggest community tree planting and nature protection event.
